Man Arrested, Charged With Robbing Subway Restaurant

A Lansing man faces formal charges after police and prosecutors say he robbed a restaurant on Thursday.

Ledonta Demar Curry faces one count of armed robbery after police say the 29-year-old walked into a Subway along the 1800 block of South Pennsylvania Avenue just before 2 p.m.

They say he indicated to workers that he had a weapon and told them to hand over the money. The employee gave him the money and he ran away. Police say a worker at the store was hurt during the robbery, though it's not clear how that happened. (Police are revising their statement to say that no one was hurt.)

A short while later, police say and officer in the area saw someone matching the description of the robber and saw the man holding a large amount of money.

Police say they positively identified him as the suspect and arrested him.

A judge set Curry's bond at $50,000.
