Reversing The Ban On Gay Marriage

LANSING, Mich. (WLNS)- State representatives introduced several pieces of legislation today aimed at reversing the ban on gay marriage in michigan.

The announcement comes before the U.S. Supreme Court is set to make their ruling on the issue.

The first piece in the legislative package would amend Michigan's constitution to allow it. While the rest of the package would ammend what is necessary to allow Michigan to have same sex marriages.

"Michigan is actually one of the most discriminative states... Michigan is one of those states that you can be fired for being gay or lesbian. You wont have your adoption retrospect by the state... You wont have right of visitation and medical directives, " says REP. Jeff Irwin.
