Merit Exam Results Drop

LANSING, Mich. (WLNS)- Michigan's annual Merit exam results are out.

The exams are issued to high school juniors and measure how proficient the 11th graders are in math, reading, science, social studies and writing.

This year all categories saw a slight decrease.

Social Studies saw the biggest year-to-year drop from an average score of 40.5 to 38.6.

Despite the small drop in numbers a 4 year trend shows an increase in scores across the board. Here are the exact numbers from last year to this year:
