UPDATE: Van Crashes Into House

LANSING, Mich. (WLNS)- After hitting a parked SUV, an accused drunk driver still had enough momentum to slam into a home with his van.

Police say the 53-year-old Lansing man was drunk when he left the road, hit an SUV, and crashed into a home on Beach Street.

It happened shortly before 2 A.M. Friday, and police say that the driver took off running after the crash. Thanks to the Police K-9 Unit, he was found quickly and arrested.

Officials say no one was inside the home at the time, and the driver is now being charged with drunk driving.

LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) - A van collided into a house in Lansing  early Friday morning. The incident occurred on the 1000 block of Beech Street. The driver of the van first crashed into an SUV in the parking lot before going directly into the front porch of the house.

Police are unsure if the man was intoxicated at the time, but he did flee the scene. Police were aided by neighbors telling them the direction the suspect headed.

The Fire Department is determining if the structure of the house will be compromised if the vehicle is removed.
