State Officials Decide To Merge Schools

LANSING, Mich. (WLNS)- Tuesday, Governor Snyder is planning to sign another bill into law, that will allow school districts struggling financially, to merge with nearby districts.

The bills were designed for schools in Detroit and Saginaw, but could affect other's facing a deficit.

The law would let the state school superintendent and the state treasurer determine whether to dissolve a district with fewer than 25 hundred students, that's deemed not financially viable.
