Police Keep Everyone Safe At Common Ground

LANSING, Mich. (WLNS)- Its always a good time at the Common Ground Music Festival but not everyone who goes there is there for fun.

Many people are at the Adado Riverfront Park working behind the scenes to help keep things safe for people attending the concerts.

Security is a top priority at the Common Ground Music Festival, and many departments throughout the city will be at the park all week making sure you stay safe.

We spoke with Interim Police Chief Mike Yannkowski, who says that while they do all they can, safety is really in the hands of the people in attendance.

"We are here to provide a safe environment...But it is the patrons that really predict the safe environment. We do ask them to be responsible and if they are drinking... To stay in those confinds and be responsible and to just enjoy the music. That is what we are here for," said Yankowski.
