Bernero Agrees To Soccer Complex Lease

LANSING, Mich. (WLNS)- For 15 years, Ingham County has leased the Kenneth Hope Soccer Complex from the city of Lansing for a dollar a year.

The county maintained it and monitored its operations, until now. Mayor Virg Bernero has agreed to a 59 month agreement with mid-Michigan Sports Turf llc. A five year contract would have required a city council vote.

"It will provide protection...claims to the park," said Mayor Bernero.

The mayor says the current contract is set to expire at end of July he decided to act now, and says the public private partnership that will help create a million dollar investment to the city.
