Man Impersonates A Cop and Robs A Man

LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) - Police in Lansing are searching for a man they say impersonated a police officer and robbed someone at gunpoint.

The incident happened shortly after 11 p.m. Monday night on Lindbergh Drive near Pennsylvania Ave. Sergeants say the suspect had a flashing light "Red Bar" on his car. When the victim stopped and pulled onto the side of the road, the suspect took the victim's car keys, wallet and cell phone.

The suspect is described as a black male, between 25 and 30 years old. About 6' feet tall with a medium build, and a medium size mustache or goatee. He was wearing a chain or necklace with what looked like a "badge" on it. Police are also looking for a black car, possibly a 2006 Chevrolet Impala.

Sergeants say if you truly feel you are not being pulled over by a police officer, keep driving and call 911. Be as descriptive as possible and continue driving until the dispatcher tells you to pull over.
