Groups Focus On Tourism In Michigan

LANSING, Mich. (WLNS)- Tourism is a very large industry in Michigan, and Thursday two groups will hold their first of a series of meetings on the state of tourism.

The Greater Lansing Convention and Visitors Bureau will look at the state of tourism in mid-Michigan. In these meetings they will also look for ways to improve and strengthen the tourism industry.

"This is really the first step in a long process so this is sort of a precursor to a longer strategic planning process so really what the point of today is, is to get input from people who care about and work in the tourism industry," said Sarah Nicholls, Associate Professor MSU.

The public is invited to these meetings.


Dates of the meetings:

July 11- The Marriott in East Lansing (8:30 A.M.-Noon)

July 15- Quality Suites Hotel in Lansing (1P.M.- 4:30P.M.)

July 18- The Conference Center in Okemos (1P.M.- 4:30P.M.)

July 19- Lansing Center on Michigan Avenue (8:30 A.M.-Noon)
