Mid-Michigan Declares Heat Alert

Posted: Updated:

LANSING, Mich. (WLNS)- The city of Lansing has declared a heat alert.

With temperatures expected to hit 90 degrees for the first time this year - and stay there for several days - the city plans to open cooling centers across the area to help people keep their own temperatures down.

Area residents are invited to cool off in the air conditioned Potter Center cafeteria, which is located on the first floor. The cafeteria offers comfortable seating with a variety of large and small-screen TVs.  Food service is available from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., Monday-Thursday.
