MI Speaks On Agriculture

LANSING, Mich. (WLNS)- The Michigan Agricultural Expo began with a bang Tuesday.

The all day event started Tuesday morning with a VIP breakfast at the expo grounds. Governor Snyder spoke at the breakfast which also included the revealing of the first Michigan Agricultural and Food Index.

The survey showed that leaders in the food and agriculture business will continue to invest in jobs and infrastructure in Michigan.

The expo continues through 3 P.M. Thursday and will have other opportunities to learn about food and agriculture.

Also going on during the AG Expo is the Dairy Expo. This is happening at the same time at the Michigan State University pavilion for agriculture and livestock education.

Visitors can learn about Michigan's dairy industry and participate in quiz bowls and management contests.

The event is the largest annual dairy event in the state with last year's expo drawing more than 300 dairy animals and 175 exhibitors.
