Grand Ledge Man Visits U.S. Congress

GRAND LEDGE, Mich. (WLNS)- A local man returns home from Washington DC, after speaking to congress about juvenile diabetes research.

Steven Klingbiel, of Grand Ledge, was selected to be a part of the 2013 children congress.

He had a chance to testify infront of Senators Stabenow and Levin, as well as Representative Wallburg. He also got to meet Vice President Joe Biden during his visit.

Before Klingbiel left, he said he was anxious to talk with them about the artifical pancrease project currenlty waiting on FDA approval.

"Tell congress why they need to fund the special diabeties program which helps fund a lot of really good's really important that we tell congress to help fund the special diabeties program," said Klingbiel.

He also told us that he met young people from all around the world who shared his hopes and dreams to one day find a cure for type one diabetes.
