Medicaid Negotiations See Movement

LANSING, Mich. (WLNS)- There has been some movement at the state capitol on negotiations to expand medicaid.

The senate republican leader says a group of lawmakers have started to come up with a plan that may fall in line with the one Governor Rick Snyder has supported.

The governor backed a plan that passed the house last month but stalled in the senate. Now senators from both sides of the aisle are working on a plan.

"We are making real good progress... There has been about 8 members that have shown up for these meetings and the meetings takes hours... We need to make sure that all of the T's are crossed and the I's are dotted before we bring it to a full committee," said Senator Randy Richardville.

If approved, the governor's plan would add 320-thousand people in Michigan to medicaid rolls.
