MI Retailers Talk Online Taxes And Economic Growth

LANSING, Mich. (WLNS)- Why go to a brick and mortar store when you can get the same item online and maybe even get it tax-free?

Thursday afternoon at the Michigan Retailers Association, Michigan small business owners plan to discuss how the opposite could benefit the state's economy.

This is due to the findings of a new study conducted by economist Art Laffer and former Michigan Budget Director Donna Arduin. The study shows the potential benefits of closing online sales tax loopholes.

This includes possibly lowering the overall tax rate and in turn jump-starting economic growth.
