UPDATE: Suspect In Apartment Fire Is Part Of Fire Dept.

UPDATE:

DEWITT, Mich. (WLNS)- According to the 2012 annual report, the suspect accused of setting fire to an apartment building is part of the DeWitt Fire Department.

36-year-old Mathew Thomas Landfair is listed as the departments Firefighter Trainee in October 2012.

DEWITT, Mich. (WLNS)- After an apartment fire left 23 people homeless in DeWitt on Sunday, officials tell us that they have arrested the person they believe is responsible.

The fire started around 3:15 A.M. at the Alana Woods apartment complex in DeWitt.

After the investigation of the fire concluded, officials said that it was arson.

36-year-old Mathew Thomas Landfair of DeWitt was arrested by officials and arraigned in court on Friday suspected of intentionally setting the fire.
