Officials Believe Drunk Driver Hit And Killed Motorcyclist

STOCKBRIDGE, Mich. (WLNS) -- A crash Friday night in Stockbridge left one man dead and a woman behind bars. Today, officials said that woman, who caused the accident, was driving drunk.

Ingham County officials said the victim of the crash is a 45-year-old man from Pleasant Lake.

He was driving his motorcycle southbound on Williamston, just north of Fitchburg, shortly after 11 p.m. Friday. That's when officials said a woman, going the same direction as the man driving the motorcycle, hit and killed him.

The suspect is described as a 48-year-old woman from Jackson. Officials said she was driving drunk when the hit the victim's motorcycle.

The suspect's 17-year-old son was also in the car at the time of the cash but wasn't hurt.

Officials said the victim was pronounced dead on scene. His name has not yet been released.

The woman is being held in the Ingham County Jail on charges of operating while intoxicated causing death. She is expected to be arraigned Sunday.
