LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) - A 19-year-old man is dead after being shot in a Lansing home early Wednesday morning.

It happened around 5:30 a.m. Wednesday on the 500 block of South Pennsylvania Avenue.

Police say people were knocked on the door and were either let in or forcibly came in, a fight ensued and eventually the man was shot. At the scene, officers saw a car speeding away with two people inside. Eight people, including one child no older than 7, were in the home this morning when the incident happened. Two others were injured.

Neighbors say it wasn't unusual for people to be coming and going during all hours of the night. "This is a street that never sleeps, so whoever did it, they were dumb for doing it. You're going to get caught," said neighbor Sheri Jones.

The victim, who has not been identified yet, didn't live in the house, but knew the family who did.

Police do not have anyone in custody at this point. The investigation is ongoing and police are continuing to search for leads. If you have any information or may have saw anything involving the crime, call 517-483-STOP.
