EAST LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) - Hundreds of Batman fans packed the Spartan Bookstore Monday to meet none other than the original Batman himself, Adam West.
Fighting crime was the cape crusaders role back in the 1960s. Today, Adam West fought crowds, as over 800 people came out just to get a glimpse of batman.
For Blayze McDonald, the chance to meet the the television legend was well worth the five hour wait. "I'm really excited. It might be the only chance I'll get to meet him," said McDonald.
McDonald was the first in line Monday morning, eager to greet West and get an autograph and picture.
"I get a chance to see the fans and I think if you don't go out and shake hands with your fans and talk and have a little visit, your career lasts about five minutes," said West.
But for him, his career is still going strong, over 50 years later. "I've done so much animation, voiceovers, commercials, movies, five television series, but they remember what? Batman and Family Guy."
Faithful Batman fans sported shirts, themed socks and for more some, the full Batman suit.
West will also speak at MSU's Union Ballroom at 7p.m. Monday to talk about his career.
