Man Charged For Intent To Murder Following Stabbing

UNION TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WLNS) - A 21-year-old man is behind bars after a stabbing incident Sunday night.

It happened around 11:30p.m. in the 2000 block of S. Lyndale Lane in Union Township--that's in Isabella County.

Hieu Trong Nguyen, 21, from Mt. Pleasant, was arrested and charged with assault with intent to murder and assault with intent to do great bodily harm less than murder.

The Sheriff's Department says the Nguyen stabbed a 42-year-old man from Mt. Pleasant in his upper body. He's still recovering in a Grand Rapids hospital.

He's being held on $1 million bond in the Isabella County Jail.
