Injured Veterans Cycle 375 Miles

Posted: Updated:

LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) - Approximately 200 injured service men and women are cycling more than 300 miles in six days in the name of awareness and healing. The trip is called "Healing Heroes."

For many, the ride will be a big accomplishment. The group is currently en route to Detroit from Chicago. Before they reach their destination, they will rest their legs and fill their bellies at a Michigan State University on Tuesday. MSU's Kellogg Hotel and Conference Center is providing 100 rooms and dinner to the cyclists who have taken on the 375 mile journey.

After their stop at MSU, they will head to Novi and plan to be in Detroit on Thursday. When they get to Detroit, they will get dinner and catch a Tiger's game.

The Healing Heroes ride raises awareness for military veterans and their families who are coping and over-coming injuries from serving overseas.
