LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) - As you most likely heard before bed or woke up to at times, heavy rain came through overnight Tuesday into the early morning hours Wednesday, leaving several places flooded.

The rain poured so hard and so fast that some cars were left stuck in the water, needing to be rescued. Flooding forced the closure of US-127 around 12:30 a.m. Wednesday. Northbound traffic was diverted at Saginaw Street while southbound traffic was forced to exit at Grand River Avenue. Both are back open now after the waters receded.

Customers Still Without Power

There are still about 2,400 Consumers Energy customers in mid-Michigan without power. Livingston County was the hardest hit with just under 1,000 customers and several hundred customers are in the dark in Clinton and Jackson counties. Consumers Energy is working to restore power.
