Amtrak Announces It Will Carry Bikes

Posted: Updated:

All aboard--and don't forget your bike.

Bicycles soon will be welcomed on some Amtrak trains running between Chicago and Michigan. Amtrak announced that bikes will be accepted aboard amtrak's "Blue Water Line" trains number 364 and 365 starting September 6.

The rail cars have been modified to create an area to carry up to four bikes per train.

There's a $10 charge for taking a bike on top of the regular ticket price.

The line has stops in East Lansing, Kalamazoo and Port Huron.
