Mich. DNR: Online ORV Safety Course Now Available

Posted: Updated:

LANSING, Mich. (AP) - The Michigan Department of Natural Resources says off-road vehicle drivers in the state now can get their safety certificates by taking an online course.

The training is available through ATVcourse.com.

In Michigan, off-road vehicle operators under the age of 16 are required to have safety training certificates and be under the supervision of an adult to legally operate an ORV.

While the training isn't required for those 16 and older, the DNR recommends all riders do it.

DNR Cpl. John Morey says the online training is "specifically tailored to Michigan."

The online course is free to sign up and study for, but costs $29.95 upon completion.
