LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) -- Police continue their search for a man who lead them on an early morning car chase and then ran away.
Police say it all began around 4:30 a.m. when they got a call reporting a man with a gun near the 3900 block of Burneway.
On scene, police say the suspect got into a van and nearly hit two Lansing Police Department officers, who managed to jump out of the way, before the driver took off.
A chase between the suspect and police began before the driver of the van crashed into a tree.
Police say there were four people inside the van. The two men sitting in the front took off on foot. Police say the two people in the back of the van stayed there. One of the people in the backseat was taken to the hospital to be treated for minor injuries.
Police say a K-9 Unit was brought in and tracked down one of the men who ran away. That man remains in custody. He is expected to be formally charged tomorrow.
The other suspect, who ran away, remains on the loose. Police believe he is in the area and say they have strong leads.
Police say they also found a stolen 357 revolver inside the van, which they traced to Eaton County.
The incident remains under investigation by the Lansing Police Department.
