Golf Director Plays 100-Hole Marathon For Military Children

How does playing 100 holes of golf sound on this labor day weekend?

One local director did just that all to raise money for scholarships to kids and spouses of military men and women.

John Lindert of the Lansing Country Club teed off at 7:30 this morning and finished around 2 p.m., this afternoon.

The hundred hole marathon is an annual event and part of a joint initiative with the professional golf association of America and the U.S. Golf Association.

Lindert says its important to remember those who serve and give back to people who gave so much for us.

"Those people gave the ultimate sacrifice," said John Lindert, Golf director for Lansing country club. "Those soldiers gave their lives so that we can live a free life, and its important that we recognize those soliders."

They are hoping to raise around 6 thousand dollars, which is the how much they raised last year.
