Posted: Updated:

LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) - The Lansing community was invited to the first of multiple educational discussions about health care reform.

Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan and Cristo Rey partnered to host the event. They answered questions and provided material and resources to better inform the community. They outlined the basics behind the Affordable Care Act and the ins and outs of filling out the 21 page assistance application.

"This is the first of many that we will be doing trying to make sure people who are going to be getting insurance through the new market place have some basic information that they need to make the right choice for themselves," said B.J. Puchala, a Senior Community Liason with BCBS.
