Local Walks To Support Alzheimer's Disease Fund

LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) - It is estimated that more than 5 million Americans suffer from Alzheimer's Disease, a progressive disorder with no cure that attacks the brain. September is Alzheimer's awareness month and all month long you have the chance to raise awareness and funds for this devastating disease.

The Alzheimer's Association has more than 650 walks in September and 40,000 teams. With the help of the 2012 local walks, the association raised $52 million.

In Jackson on Sunday, September 8 a walk will take place at the Cascade Falls Park at 1 p.m. Participants will be meeting at 11 a.m.

For Lansing, the walk will be on Sunday, September 22 at the State Capitol, beginning at 12:30 p.m.
