Labor Day Weekend 2013 Safer Than 2012

LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) -- New numbers show this year's Labor Day weekend was safer than last year on the road.

According to the Michigan State Police, deadly accidents dropped by half during Labor Day weekend this year.

In 2012 eight people were killed. This year, four people died.

Police say alcohol was a factor in one crash this year and another accident involved a bicyclist and a motorcycle rider who wasn't wearing a helmet.
