Albion College Closes Due To Storm Damages

Posted: Updated:

ALBION, Mich. (WLNS) - After a severe storm went through a large portion of Michigan, many are left with power outages and extensive damage.

Because of those damages, Albion College has closed the college and canceled classes for the rest of the week due to storm damage, according to the school's website. The college will be closed through Sunday and classes will resume on Monday.

College officials say the campus has no heat, hot water, or power, including exterior lights and street lights. They say there are also power lines down, which have buried homes. Fallen trees across campus have crushed cars, creating a hazardous situation for everyone.

"We emphasize that this is a hazardous situation, and students and staff should not be out walking on campus," said the Albion Colelge of Campus Safety.
