Grass Lake 27 - Michigan Center 20

An early battle of top dogs in the Cascades conference, predicted to finish No. 1 and 2 this season. It was our big game for a big reason.

In the second half, Grass Lake's Garrett McEllis handed off to Caleb Sabo, who took it 60 yards to the endzone to tie the game at 14.

The 4th quarter brought the excitement, and McEllis took another hand off this time to Justin Wright, who powered his way for a touchdown. Warriors snagged the 21-14 lead.

The Cardinals were not done fighting yet.

With under four minutes remaining in the game, they too pushed their way into the endzone, as Dylan Zaborowski connected with Drew Dowding.

It was then up to Michigan Center's kicker Colin Visser to tie the game at 21, and the kick was no good.

Warriors got the ball back, and they made the most of it. McEllis gave it to Drew Plensdorf and he went all the way to the endzone.

Grass lake went on to win this one 27-20, and took down the Cardinals on their home turf, leaving coach Randy Cole overjoyed.
