Trooper Butterfield's Funeral Set For Saturday

LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) - The friends and family of Trooper Paul Butterfield will say their final goodbyes on Saturday. Police say the 43-year-old Michigan State Police Trooper was shot and killed Monday, September 9 by 19-year-old Eric Knysz.

It happened during a traffic stop in Western Michigan. He's charged with first degree murder and is under police guard at the Munson Medical Center in Traverse City. He was shot by police Monday night before his arrest. Knysz' wife Sarah has also been charged in the shooting.

Funeral - 1 p.m. Manistee High School Gym

Candelight Vigil - 7 p.m. Waterfront Park
