Car Crash Sends Three People To The Hospital

WEBBERVILLE, Mich. (WLNS) -- A two-car accident in Ingham County sends three people to the hospital.

At 10:42 a.m., Ingham County officials closed both eastbound and westbound lanes of I-96 between M-52 and Elm Road while they worked to rescue people inside two crashed SUVs.

The Ingham County Sheriff's Department said the white Chevy TrailBlazer rear ended the black Volkswagen SUV while driving westbound on I-96. They don't yet know what caused the driver to crash.

On scene, emergency responders airlifted a man to Sparrow Hospital, where he remains in serious condition. The other two people, a man and a woman, were taken by ambulance to the hospital. All three people are expected to survive.

Both I-96 roadways opened back up by 11:45 a.m. after officials cleared the scene.
