Students Report String Of Cell Phone Robberies

EAST LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) -- East Lansing Police are looking for information following a string of cell phone robberies throughout the area.

Sunday between midnight and 3 a.m., police say three separate people reported someone came up to them, asked to use their cell phone for a call and then ran off with it.

Police say all three incidents happened at different locations throughout East Lansing and they don't yet know if the events are related.

During the robberies, two of the three victims were hit in the face. They were treated for minor injuries and are expected to be OK.
