Police, FBI Search For Two Men Who Robbed A PNC Bank

Posted: Updated:

(WLNS) -- Police are investigating a string of five bank robberies along the I-96 corridor they believe could be related.

The armed robberies span from Oakland County to Eaton County.

"There's been five of them and there's no indication that after five they're going to stop," said Chief Thomas Couling of the Fowlerville Police Department.

Police say about two months ago the first armed robbery happened in New Hudson, in western Oakland County. July 29 police believe the men acted again, robbing a Comerica Bank, west of Lansing, in Delta Township.

Police believe the same men robbed a 5/3 bank in Williamston on Aug. 12. The picture attached shows the men walking out of the bank with handfuls of cash and a drawn handgun.

"We were probably fourth in line in these series of robberies," said Couling.

Couling says, two weeks later, one man robbed the Chase Bank in town. There, the man fled the scene in a maroon Buick Park Avenue.

The most recent armed robbery happened Monday at the PNC Bank on Jolly Oak Road in Okemos. There, the suspect's similarities continue.

Police say the armed robberies all happened in the early afternoon, hitting just two to three weeks apart. Police say the suspects have similar builds and always entirely cover themselves in black clothing.

"He's got black gloves, black boots, pants and a hoodie," Couling said.

Police say they're working together to solve these crime fast, and getting the FBI involved, because they don't doubt the suspects may strike again.

If you have any information about any of these armed bank robberies contact the police.

UPDATE: Monday's PNC Bank robbery has caught the attention of the FBI. The FBI is looking into whether the same men are responsible for a series of other armed robberies in multiple areas all along I-96.

MERIDIAN Twp. (WLNS) - Police are looking for two men who they say robbed a Meridian Township bank Monday morning.

It happened around 10:09 a.m. at the PNC Bank on Jolly Oak Road. Police say one suspect had a silver gun. The two men took off with cash and ran out of the building.

The suspects are described as two black men who wore dark clothing, including hoodies, dark shoes and bandanas to cover their faces.

Police have no released pictures of the suspects.
