Residents Receive Larger Recycling Bins

Posted: Updated:

LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) - Lansing city officials and members of the Capital Area Recycling and Trash Services got together Monday to show off their newest recycling cart. The carts are expected to hold more materials than the old green bins.

This will help eliminate the need for multiple trips and lead to a more efficient recycling program, and that's something officials hope will encourage more people to step up and recycle materials that can be easily recycled.

More than 30,000 carts will be delievered to residents who are asked to recycle their old bins or keep them for personal use. There is no additional cost to residents for the new program.
