IONIA COUNTY, Mich. (WLNS) - Ionia's Department of Public Safety confirmed two people have died as a result of a shooting at the Wonder Wand Auto Wash off of South Steele Street in Ionia County. Police responded to a call of shots fired shortly before 7 p.m.
They arrived to find 43-year-old James Pullum and 56-year-old Robert Taylor, both from Ionia with gunshot wounds. The two were given medical treatment and taken to Sparrow Ionia Hospital were they were pronounced dead.
Police say Pullum had two passengers in his vehicle, but they weren't injuerd in the shooting.
The Public Safety Department believes this stemmed from a road-rage incident where both turned into the car wash and exchanged fire after a short argument. Police say both men had valid Concealed Pistol Licenses.
The investigation is continuing with the assistance of the Michigan State Police Crime Lab and Ionia County Sheriff's Office.
