LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) - A late night fire severely damaged a home Monday and it's the same home fire crews were called to last week. It will likely be several days before fire investigators figure out what started the house fire in Lansing.
It happened around 11:30 p.m. on the 900 block of East Saginaw Street Monday. This is the same home where crews were called to last week for another fire. Both are still under investigation. The fire also left minor damage to the home next door.
"We made an aggressive interior attack and knocked it down. We ended up having to do a lot of salvage and overhaul to try to chase the fire due to the year of construction and the type of construction," said Eric Weber, LFD, Public Information Officer.
Due to the extent of the damage, fire officials say it's going to take time to shift through the home to find the cause.
