Lansing Catholic made the trek out to play Lakewood High. And so did the Cougar faithful - decked out in pink for breast cancer awareness month.
In the first quarter, sophomore quarterback Tony Poljan with a delayed hand-off to the only other sophomore on the team - Tony Palmer. He gave a stiff arm, and was gone to make it 14-0 Cougars.
Last play of the first, Cougars score again with a deep pass to Jack Peters.
But Lakewood built momentum in the second quarter.
Quarterback doug Suntken kept it and never went down. He gave a great second effort to cross the goaline to make it 21-7.
But it would not be enough, as Lansign Catholic went on to win 35-7.
