Coach Wallace was back on the sidelines, as the Chieftains hosted Jackson. Both teams still in the hunt for that first win of the season.
In the thrid quarter, Okemos was up 7-0 and Jackson was forced to punt. And watch out - Javon Greca's kick was blocked by Okemos. It bounced into the endzone, and the Chieftains picked up the safety, 9-0 Okemos.
Jackson finally got on the board in the fourth quarter. Greca took a keeper, and barreled inside for a touchdown. However, the Vikings would miss the extra-point, 9-6 Okemos.
With two minutes remaining in the game, Grant Klaver hande off to Kome Johnson, and he fought his way in for the touchdown. And the Cheifs rolled to a 10-point lead.
And if that was not enough, the icing on teh cake came from a Greca scramble. He could not fidn a man open so he tossed it up and hoped a receiver could catch it. But, it landed in the hands of Tristan Bolas for an interception, and it sealed the deal for the Chiefs.
Okemos went on to beat Jackson, 16-6 for their first win of the season. And Wallace was overwhelmed with emotion.
