Armed Robbery Suspects Arrested, Charged

UPDATE: A Lansing man and woman have been charged with multiple felony counts in connection to two armed robberies in Lansing.

Edward Goforth, 24, and Shyeta Wilson, 25, have been charged with the Sept. 30 armed robberies of the Citgo gas station, 4600 S. Cedar, and Sunoco gas station, 3306 N. East Street.

Sunday the Ingham County Prosecutors office charged Goforth with seven felony counts, including two armed robbery counts, two counts of carrying a dangerous weapon with unlawful intent, one count of carry a concealed weapon and two counts of felony firearm. He is being held in the Ingham County Jail without bond.

Wilson was charged with three felony counts, including one count of carrying a concealed weapon, one count of a felon possessing a firearm and one count of felony firearm. She was also charged with one misdemeanor count for operating with a suspended/revoked/denied license. Wilson is being held in the Ingham County Jail on a $150,000 cash/surety bond.

Goforth and Wilson's pretrial conferences are scheduled for Oct. 15 in the Ingham County District Court. Both of their prelimiary hearings are scheduled to begin Oct. 17.

10/5/13: LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) -- Police have arrested a man and a woman in connection to a string of armed robberies across mid-Michigan.

Just after 10 p.m. Friday, Lansing police and Lansing Township police stopped a black Cadillac near Pennsylvania and Oakland Ave., following an armed robbery at an Admiral gas station in Bath Township.

Inside the vehicle, police found a 24-year-old man and a 25-year-old woman, along with cash and a firearm, linking the two to the armed robbery. 

Police believe the man is connected to at least four other crimes, including armed robberies in Lansing, Eaton County, Lansing Township and Bath Township.

Police expect the suspects to be arraigned Sunday or Monday. They could face armed robbery and felony firearm charges.
