Teen Charged With Shayla Johnson's Murder Evaluated

Posted: Updated:

LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) - An Ingham County judge says a convicted juvenile murderer is making progress in his rehabilitation center, but isn't ready to be released yet.

Charles Lewis Junior was in court Tuesday morning for a review. He's convicted in the 2010 shooting death of Shayla Johnson.

Prosecutors say he and six other men, including his father, stormed into Johnson's home, carried her out to a car and shot her five times.

The teenager will be back in court, again, for another review next April.
