Dedication Held For Seidman Center In Grand Rapids

Posted: Updated:

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (AP) - A formal dedication has been held for Grand Valley State University's L. William Seidman Center in downtown Grand Rapids.

Hundreds of donors who helped the Allendale school raise $40 million for construction attended an event on Wednesday.

The center is named for Bill Seidman, founding chairman of Grand Valley's Board of Trustees and former Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation chairman. The school says several members of the Seidman family attended the dedication event and toured the building.

The four-story center supports 142 faculty and staff in the Seidman College of Business and also houses a number of other offices. In its 40-year history, the Seidman College of Business has grown from 145 students to more than 3,000 students.
