LIVINGSTON COUNTY, Mich. (WLNS) - A Livingston County Walmart is making headlines for why they allegedly fired an employee.

It was early Sunday morning and 30-year-old Kristopher Oswald says he was on break at the Walmart in Hartland Township when he saw a woman attacked in the parking lot.

He went to help and managed to hold off the attackers until sheriff's deputies arrived.

But soon after, he says the store's management gave him his dismissal papers for violating store policy.

UPDATE: A Walmart spokesperson tells us that the company is willing to give Oswald his job back
