Snyder To Help Celebrate Growth Of Bus Company

Posted: Updated:

OWOSSO, Mich. (AP) - Michigan Gov. Rick Snyder is planning to help announce the expansion of one of the country's largest used bus companies.

The governor is expected in Owosso 30 miles northeast of Lansing on Monday afternoon at Midwest Bus Corp. It focuses on bus repair, replacement parts, used bus sales, leasing and services to the transit industry.

The company is expanding thanks to a two-year, $31 million contract with the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority. The company estimates the contract will create 100 new jobs in Shiawassee County.

Earlier Monday, Snyder will tour the Michigan Sugar Co. a major sugar beet processing facility in Bay City.
