‘Walmart Hero’ Declines Company’s Offer To Rehire

Posted: Updated:

(WLNS) – The man who was suspended then fired from a Walmart in Livingston County earlier this month for helping a woman during an assault, says he is declining the company's offer to rehire him.

Kristopher Oswald the company gave him too strict of a deadline to make a decision on returning, and never formally apologized for its actions.

Oswald also says the company refuses to pay for medical treatment related to injuries he sustained during the attack. He says he's been to a therapist twice to work through the ordeal, and is not sure he will be able to work at all.

For now, Oswald says he's volunteering with a local pet organization.
