Posted: Updated:

Several meetings around the Mid-Michigan area are expected Monday night.

The Lansing City Council will take the next step annexing a part of Meridian Township. It's a part of the plan to get Jackson National Life to expand. If it all works out, the $100 million expansion could bring 1,000 new jobs to the area.

A group called the "Coalition for a Safer Lansing" is getting excited for next week's election. They're hosting a meeting Monday to talk about their petition to legalize pot in Lansing.

The East Lansing School Board wants to hear from parents about proposed new boundaries for their elementary schools.

The district is re-drawing the map because it's closing Red Cedar Elementary next year.
