"If you have food allergies, if you're concerned about what your kids eat, if you want to know the conditions upon in which the food was raised, often times you can have that connection to a farmer," said Randy Bell, Extension Educator for Community Food Systems.

LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) - Regional agriculture and economic development leaders met Tuesday morning to announce the creation of a Food Innovation District in Lansing.

The district is part of a strategy aimed at increasing the growth of agricultural businesses and public access to local food, all from right here in mid-Michigan.
