The wife of a man charged with murder in the fatal shooting of a Michigan State Police trooper has been ordered to stand trial on charges in Manistee County that stem from the aftermath of the death.

The Muskegon Chronicle reports a judge on Tuesday ordered 20-year-old Sarah Knysz to stand trial in a car-theft case.

Eric Knysz earlier waived his right to a preliminary hearing on gun, assault and car-theft charges in Manistee County. The charges followed the death of Trooper Paul Butterfield, who was killed during a traffic stop September 9th in Mason County's Sherman Township.

A trial for Eric Knysz is scheduled next year in Mason County Circuit Court in Ludington. He's charged with murder of a peace officer and other crimes in Mason County.
