LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) - Students of Sheridan Road Elementary School were excited to receive $3,000 worth of science supplies from Emergent Biosolutions Thursday morning.

During the assembly, students were introduced to microscopes, lab coats and the laptops that will be used for the school's forensic science class.

The president of the company says getting hands-on with science in the class room is critical to the development of students.

Representatives from the company, as well as the Lansing School District administration, including Lansing Superintendent Yvonne Caamul Canul, were at the presentation ceremony.

6 News will have much more later today.
