Substitute Teacher Arrested For Criminal Sexual Conduct

Posted: Updated:

JACKSON, Mich. (WLNS) - A former substitute teacher for Jackson Public Schools was arrested Friday on charges of criminal sexual conduct.

Jamar Moore, 27, was arrested by Jackson Police for two counts of first degree criminal sexual conduct on Friday.

Moore was released on 10 perecent of his 25 thousand dollar bond on Sunday around 11 am.

According to court documents, the alleged assault happened on June 1 2012, not on school grounds, but Moore wasn't arrested until last Friday.

Lt. Chris Simpson from the Jackson County Police Department says there was such a big time lapse between the time of the alleged assault and the arrest because this was what he called a "comprehensive investigation". It took time to put together the evidence and the witnesses.

Police won't release the gender or the age of the victim. But in Moore's bond, it states that he is not allowed to teach, leave the state or come in contact with anyone under the age of 16-years-old.

He is expected in court Friday for a pre-examination conference.
